Do you have your Directors ID yet!
In October 2021 the Government introduced a new identification system for company directors, a Directors ID. A number of transitional measures were put in place to make it easier for existing directors to comply with the new regime. The last of those transitional measure is fast approaching on 30 November 2022. If you are a director and have not applied for your Directors ID by 30 November 2022 you could face stiff penalties.

Directors need to apply for their own Directors ID, as the process requires you to verify your identity.
Applying online requires the following:
The MyGovID app on your smart phone. You can apply for a MyGovID here How to set up | myGovID if you don't already have one.
To complete the Directors ID application, you will also need your tax file number,
your residential address as recorded by the ATO, and
the answer to 2 of the following questions based on details the ATO have about you in their records,
A bank account you receive your tax refund into. If you use a tax agent and pay your fees from your refund you should not use this method.
The following information from a notice of assessment issued in the past 5 years: date of issue, the reference number and your taxable income.
Your superannuation membership information: member account number and the super fund Australian Business Number (ABN).
Your investment reference number from a dividend statement issued in the last 2 years.
Your taxable income as recorded on a Centrelink payment summary issued in the last 2 years.
Your gross income as recorded on a PAYG payment summary issued in the last 2 years.

Applying By Phone:
Call 13 62 50, and provide the following information,
your tax file number and your residential address as recorded by the ATO, and
provide 2 identity documents, one primary and one secondary:
Primary document: Australian birth certificate, Australian passport, Australian citizenship certificate, ImiCard or Visa.
Secondary document, Medicare card, Australian driver's license.
Applying by paper:
In addition to the information requested on the application form, you will need to provide certified copies of:
one primary and one secondary identity document, or 2 primary identity documents.
Primary documents: Foreign birth certificate, Foreign passport, Australian full birth certificate (extracts and commemorative certificates are not acceptable), Australian passport (including passports that have expired in the past 3 years)
Secondary documents: National photo identification card, Foreign government identification, Driver’s licence, Marriage certificate.
